Irish Kennedy Heritage Group
Our mission is to preserve and disseminate the history of the Irish Kennedy family.
The Irish Kennedy Heritage Group was formally inaugrated in July 2015 at a meeting held before the Annual Clan meeting in Rearcross, Co. Tipperary.
Brian Patrick Kennedy
The driving force behind the group is Author and historian Brian Patrick Kennedy from the Gold Coast in Australia whose ancestors had emigrated to Australia from the Rearcross area in the middle 19th century.
Brian developed an obsession with researching and cataloguing the history of his ancestors and their extended Kennedy cousins and during the course of his many visits to North Tipperary he amassed a vast collection of information on the Kennedy family – information to be found in Brian’s seven (so far) published books.
Kennedy Clan Gathering
In 2011 Brian organised the first Annual Kennedy Clan gathering in Rody Kennedy’s Angelsey Lounge in Rearcross. These Annual gatherings have, in the years following, attracted visiting Kennedys from many parts of the world.
2014 saw the inauguration of Rody Kennedy as Chief of the Kennedy clan and Brian as seanchai or historian .

Recent Accomplishments
2015 saw the establishment of the official Irish Kennedy Heritage Group, while 2016 saw the introduction of a Kennedy Family Display in the Heritage Centre , Nenagh, and also the first organised tour of Kennedy Castles. These tours of Kennedy Country have become a regular feature of our Clan gatherings in the years since and in 2018 included a trip to the J.F.K. Homestead in Dunganstown, Co. Wexford.
Future Plans
We plan and hope to continue to develop the activities of the Irish Kennedy Heritage Group in the interests of Kennedys dispersed throughout the world and to ensure the great work initiated by Brian will continue to be available to Kennedys of present and future generations.
